Saving Donation Edits

I need to add soft credits to donations previously entered under a Community Foundation constituent to indicate the actual donor (eg John Doe). But Donations do not allow me to "Save and Close" once I add the soft credit, or at any point. Am I missing something? Very new to RE and feel like I'm overlooking something obvious.

You asked if you were overlooking something obvious, so I feel like it's important to ask: Do you actually have the rights to edit gifts in Raiser's Edge? Check in with your Supervisor user to make sure you have the rights. It could just be that!

Thanks for your help @Austen Brown and @Vered Siegel! Here is what I'm looking at- note the save and close button greyed out. My Admin says I should have the the rights to edit. Let me know what you think?

I would ask your Admin to verify your rights. It looks to me like you definitely do not have rights to Edit, since your “Save and Close” button is grayed out.

I agree with @Karen Diener and @Vered Siegel - It does not appear that you have rights to edit gifts, especially if it appears this way for every gift record you open.
