Advanced List Help - All Historic Group Membership

Hello,

Currently, we do not publish all group types to the transcript, as we have mainly used activities for things like free periods and community blocks. I'm trying to put together an advanced list that our External Affairs team as well as others could use to track all historic group memberships for a student. I don't want a transcript report or any other report as 1. I'm not looking to adjust which groups are available on the transcript and 2. We would ideally like this in an excel sheet for easy data manipulation and import.

I know I can get academic groups and athletic teams into a list, but I'm struggling with community groups. Perhaps we've been using them in a way that makes what I'm trying to do impossible - we use them for clubs and a few departmental pages, and we clear the community group rosters each summer and repopulate them when students join clubs.

Is there a clean way to grab those historic memberships? Or once we remove someone from a community group is there no record of that membership ever existing? I'm confident we could get what we need if we were utilizing activity groups for this purpose, but we love the fact that our students can administer/manage their own club pages when we use community groups.

Any input or advice would be great!

  • Jess:

I think you're out of luck on this one. There is no dropped filed you typically see with enrollment records. The activity and community groups appear to be completely separate.

Even when I go to Core and look up a record, click Groups and switch the school year it still only shows the current group.

    Thanks.
