Changing a gift designation

We are still in the testing phase of Luminate Online, bbms, and Omatic. If a donor decides they accidentally donated to a fund they didn't intend to, how can we make that change in Luminate? We used to just go into RE and do an adjustment, but that doesn't seem like our best option now, and I can't find an option to change a gift that has been entered via Luminate. Any help would be GREATLY appreciate!

Hi Dawn!!

Can you share more information on how you are setting your designations? I have seen clients that set their gift designations in RE in different ways, ranging from using a specific naming convention on their donation forms, and using the form to set the designation when omatic imports donations in from LO, to using the designations module within Luminate.

If we can learn more about how you are setup, I am sure we can offer some recommendations on how you could make an adjustment.

We offer multiple choices for donors to select in a drop down menu on the Luminate donation page, and those are each mapped to a specific fund in RE, imported by Omatic. The testing of all of these has worked perfectly - it's only making adjustments that I can't find a way to handle.


To be honest, I've been brought into this process rather late, although I'm the Accounts Receivable person who will be handling the donations AND the phone calls!
