Cannot delete gifts added in NXT

I am not sure if this has already been mentioned on here but… I added a gift in NXT while testing out Letter Box…. I figured out what I needed and went to delete the test gift I added while in NXT. Well what do you know, the delete is greyed out. I come to find out that one is not able to delete gifts added in NXT. So a friendly heads up to those who are not in NXT because we work in database view. And please go vote for Blackbaud to add this functionality.

Yes. Kind of crazy. I ran into this problem not more than a couple of weeks ago.

Weird enough the only way for me to delete the gift was through the SkyAPI. (which is definitely not for everyone! ?)

Here is somewhat of a workaround

Create a new constituent,

Navigate to the gift record that is on the wrong constituent record in web view

Under the main header on the gift record near the top left select Edit > Constituent

Search for the new constituent the gift record

Click Save

Go to database view and delete the new constituent.

Voted! And I also came here to tell you about moving it to and deleting a dummy record. I'm glad someone else let you know about that. We are all about workarounds!

@Veronica Renzo - this is a great feature on moving one gift to another constituent. The only issue I found was when it was entered under the Organization record and not Individual record. I couldn't move the one gift. So I had to enter a zero gift amount and hand enter the gift.

The move a gift feature of NXT is quite handy. What they are not always real clear about in documentation is that it is individual to individual or organization to organization. So if the gift you need to delete is on an org record, you would want to create a new org record. Found this out through similar experience.

That IS one of the pros of webview that I think is terrific. Wish they had it in database view! Another is the mapping tool in Lists. Thanks, JoAnn, for reminding me about that feature.
