Uploading gifts to Luminate Online TeamRaiser

We use Raiser's Edge, and have a large number of people who use Luminate Online's TeamRaiser peer-to-peer fundraising. I was wondering if anyone has any experience uploading gifts that came offline (i.e. checks, cash, etc.) from Raiser's Edge to Luminate Online? If you do, what is your process?

We use ImportOmatic for pulling online gifts from Luminate Online into Raiser's Edge, but the export tool didn't work well for us to do the opposite and put Offline gifts from Raiser's Edge to LO. We were unable to create an export in Raiser's Edge that would let us narrow down to ONLY offline gifts AND include the Participant ID from Raiser's Edge in order to connect the donation to the correct TeamRaiser participant, which was needed for the Omatic export tool.

One of the solutions we were given by Blackbaud is to enter offline gifts into LO first, rather than entering them into Raiser's Edge first. However, that won't work for us because of the way we need to batch our offline donations in Raiser's Edge and the level of detail we need to add to offline gifts in Raisers Edge which is unavailable in LO (which would therefore make us have to do double entry, or be very careful to go back to the gifts and add in all that detail afterwards).

We've currently been entering offline gifts to TeamRaiser fundraising pages one-off on the back end, but we're curious if anyone has found ways to do it in bulk, or what others are using as their process for this circumstance.

Hi Kacy - When I was using TR in conjunction with RE, I would enter in cash/checks as normal into RE first, then manually add them on the back-end to TR as an offline donation. We would then have to pay attention to the gifts that came through the RELO connector to make sure to delete any gift from batch that had a payment method of cash or check.

Do you remember if you would bulk upload them to LO? Or if you added them in one by one? Ideally, we'd like to be able to extract all the donations that need to be uploaded from RE and then do a bulk import into LO, but we couldn't find a way to get the Participant ID onto a donation export from RE. (And doing a participant export gives all donations regardless if they need to be uploaded or not).

We didn't have enough offline gifts to warrant investigating the import option; everything was entered one-by-one. I wonder if you could get the Participant ID into the export from RE through VLOOKUP based on unique information that appears in both the fundraiser's RE record and LO record.
