Hello! We use opportunities to work through our pipeline and ensure we have a clear pathway to get to our overall fundraising goal. Can the system mark an opportunity as awarded or funded when the gift comes in?

We use opportunities the same way and I don't think there is a way for the system to link the gift and mark it paid. However, we have a business rule that pops up a message in batch entry that reads “There is an open opportunity for this constituent that may be linked to this gift”. This at least alerts our gift entry person that they need to check opportunities to see if it matches the gift received. From there, they link the gift and mark the opportunity as “paid”.

Lindsay - We use opportunities as well and I haven't found a way for the system to link the gifts. I run a query monthly to link the gifts and mark completed.

I have a business rule set up to flag upon gift entry any donor with an active proposal. When the gift is being entered you can add the amount funded right from the batch, the link to proposal icon looks like a book. This can also be done on a gift itself. (Note I typically work from the DB view)

We just started looking into this as well. We're planning to implement. Looks like gift can be linked to opportunity/proposal using the link icon on the gift record.

Or the book icon in batch.
