Globally delete specific participant attribute from various event records

Someone within our team renamed an event participant attribute which in turn changed it on ALL RE event records where that participant attribute was listed. I want to remove that from all participants records within each event that was affected but NOT the event that it needs to be on. Any suggestions? I tried global change for Participant but it's an add or replace and a yes/no option. I'm at a mind loss as to what other option I have. I don't see a global delete for event attributes, but events themselves. Thanks in advance for any direction/advice!

@Denise Miller You can globally delete a participant attribute. In Global Delete you choose the record type of attribute and then in the delete options you can choose the type of participant attribute. Test it on one record first to make sure you're doing what you want to do.
