Can't generate temporary password or have parents request it

Under Core > Profile > Access, there isn't an option to change or reset password like I find in this article (am a Platform Manager): https://webfiles.blackbaud.com/support/helpfiles/education/k12/panel/content/bb-core-manually-assign-change-username-password.html

Nor is there an option for passwords for Bulk Upload (am assuming it's related). Also, when parents go to request sign-in help like in this link: https://webfiles.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/education/higher-ed/content/bb-core-automated-sign-in-help-process.html, nothing else pops up asking about username or password to be sent--it's just a blank screen with Login Help.

Not sure why it's different or unavailable but it seems it is all related to some password/security access in the system. Parents are asking about password reset but I'm not able to reset it for them, provide a temporary one, or have them click on login help “Forgot login” (leads to the blank Login Help panel).

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

@Nathan Ong, with Blackbaud ID, you can no longer set up a temporary password for users. If a parent forgot their password, they need to reset it via the BBID log-in page.

What you can do is modify your log-in help verbiage by navigating to Core > Settings > Custom labels & text > Custom text/messages.

    • Category: Sign In
    • Custom Text/Message: Sign In Help/Request Login Instructions

You can also change the “Forgot login or First time logging in?” verbiage by navigating to Core > Security > Authentication settings.

Click here to see what St. Stephen's Episcopal School did on their site.

  • I see--thank you for the helpful information! I did just that and edited the text and link. Thanks!

@Nathan Ong Bryan is correct. Also, I'll be removing these legacy topics from the help center so that they don't show up in search results once BBID is mandatory for all schools later this month.
