Referrals between team members - Best way to track?

Is anyone tracking referrals between the Annual Giving Team and Major Gift Officers? Or referrals between Alumni Relations team and Annual giving team? Where in RE or NXT did you track this information and what did your tracking reports look like?

    We are trying to do the same as well. I thought of tracking them as different fundraiser types, but that doesn't allow you to report on them. Custom fields get messy quickly, but that's another good tracking/reporting mechanism. Has your team tried any solutions yet?

    @Sarah Sokora - Have you thought about using Actions? This is an area everyone in organization uses so there is familiarity and access. I would add a type of Referral so I can query on only those actions. The summary field would state person A is referring to person B with an explanation in Notes. Then reports could be pulled to share who is making referrals and who is receiving them. What do you think?
