Is NetCommunity being sunset?

Has anyone heard about netcommunity being sunset? I was listening to a webinar a few weeks ago and thought I heard the comment of “netcommunity is going away” I'm hoping I mis-heard. I don't recall which blackbaud webinar it was.

@Elaine Tucker Hey Elaine! There has been no announcements related to end of service for BBNC. The PUBS were focused on the next generation of Donation Forms that Blackbaud is bringing to RENXT. We expect that you will continue to leverage BBNC as well as the new forms together.

@Trit Mulligan My boss said that she heard at the CASE Conference in Palm Springs that NetCommunity is going to disappear. Will Blackbaud have some kind of replacement product available should you eliminate this service in the near future?

Hi Sarah,

When we do determine it is time to end of service a product, we will always provide pathways for our customers. Depending on your needs, some new functionality is available in RENXT, like Event Registration forms as well as Donation Forms and Email. We realize there are gaps but I would encourage you to take a look and evaluate if those solutions would work as that is where innovation is occurring.

I'd also encourage everyone to consider upgrading to Blackbaud Checkout on your forms. They will provide the most secure experience for you and your donors!

Hi Trit, we are a BBNC user from New Zealand. What we are waiting for is the Addressee/Salutation functionality that BBNC has to be there in the NXT RE functionality - Email / Forms - Donation and Event Registration.

We have been waiting for a while and one of the reasons we can't move is because the RE Classic Addressee/Salutation Functionality that then links to BBNC isn't there - as far as I understand! I keep an eye out for it.

Merge fields just don't work for some of the naming complexities we have, whereas we could always find a solution with the RE Classic Addressee/Salutation Functionality

@Elaine Tucker @Trit Mulligan I hope if/when the announcement of NetCommunity being sunset, that Blackbaud is aware that many nonprofits have FULL websites on this platform and not just using for donations, events, etc. We will need time for our next steps, moving our current websites (we have multiple) over to another platform. This is very concerning to me….

There has not been an announcement on a end of service date. When one is announced there will be ample time given to transition to an alternative solution.
