We are new to Altru as of this year and are searching for a gift card (or gift certificate) vendor. So, I'm wondering who everyone is using to sell and redeem gift cards! Send me your favorites.

We use eCard Systems to purchase physical gift cards. And we use their iPad app to load and redeem those cards.
When selling/redeeming gift cards, we process the transaction in both Altru and eCards. We've used eCards for years and it's been okay.
But I would love to switch to a digital gift card instead. A couple of years ago I researched this idea and liked this platform:
But we were unable to use it for complicated “we're part of a University and are limited to what payment gateways we are allowed to work with” reasons.
I am planning to research if there is a better option for us when I have time.
I'd love to hear what you end up deciding on!

@Michael MartinWe use Square to sell both physical gift cards and e-gift cards. When they are redeemed, we run the gift card through Square on an iPad and also enter a transaction in Altru with payment method = Square.
We also use Square in a couple other capacities. It is our backup if Altru or the internet is down (has happened a couple of times over the years). We also use it to generate and track invoices that contain secure payment links if someone wants to pay for a sponsorship with a credit card, for example.

We already use it for a backup when we lose Altru or the internet and it is our main POS for bar sales during after-hours events. We are also pleased to see that they have both digital and physical card options. Thank you, Kelly!
