How are people using the Inactive button for constituents
We would like to differentiate between active and inactive accounts within a fundraiser's portfolio. Has anyone used this before?

@Potique Johnson - In my experience, it is a best practice to inactivate a constituent when they truly do not want to be involved with your organization anymore or where a company has closed down. At the end of the day you should always do what is best for your organization; no matter what you decide make sure that you are consistent and you document on the record (e.g., Notes or a Action > Task) why the constituent was marked inactive - this will be a gift to your future self.

@Potique Johnson Can you clarify where you are considering marking them inactive?
On the bio 1 tab? That is not a good option for using to mark inactive from a portfolio. That would be more along the criteria set by your org that they are ‘inactive’ with your organization.
You could use a prospect status if you have prospect module.
Have you considered just giving them solicitor/fundraising assignment a ‘date to’ date? That would remove them.

JoAnn: I hadn't thought about that, but what my supervisor wants to do is to seperate out the donors that the fundraisers are “actively” working with and the donors that they are only “stewarding”. So they would have 2 lists. Using prospect status would not “take them off” their portfolio main list. If I were to “use end date” that would mean I would have to “track” them for their next “interaction” in 9 months or a year.1 -
@Potique Johnson IN RE NXT Work Center, if you are using Prospect Status and one of your Statuses is Stewardship, in their Work Center, they can pull all the prospect status except the Stewardship status. so you would have that list. Then pull it by just Stewardship and you will then have that list. You then have the two lists that you are looking for. But this depends on what you are considering active and inactive. I would not consider Stewardship to be inactive. You can also create an attribute called Prospect Tier, where you can create a drop down box such as Top Prospects, Inactive Prospects, etc. Then filter with that. Completely agree with Austen in regard to the Inactive box in BIO 1 or ORG 1 tab.
