Luminate Email vs NXT Emailing

Hello, We currently use Luminate to send out emails. I recently took a training on NXT Emails, I'm wondering what others like better. Does NXT Emailing have similar functions as Luminate.

@Emily Glueck It's been a couple of years since I was in Luminate, but I believe that you have more options available in Luminate to customize the emails, etc.

@Emily Glueck - I'm in the same boat as Christine, it's been a few years since I used LO. With LO you'll have the ability to see and work with the HTML where as with NXT Email Marketing that's not currently possible. It depends on what your org is trying to do to know which is better. If you have access to both systems, I recommend playing around with the email creation process and see what would be a good fit for you.

It just seems like LO is archaic and not user friendly so I was wondering if NXT would be better. What do you for email marketing?

@Emily Glueck - NXT will be much more user friendly, think drag-drop design and content options. The downside is you have less customization control. Most of the orgs I know either use NXT Email Marketing or OLX Email Marketing.

@Emily Glueck I'm a consultant, but I work with clients using a wide range of tools (RE NXT email, Online Express, LO, MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.). LO is not the easiest to use. RE NXT email and OLX are definitely easier and plug into RE natively.

We don't use online express email

We also don't use RE NXT email.

We use LO email due to high flexibility. But it does require more indepth knowledge of the platform and HTML skillset. LO did introduce a new email editor that is more user friendly but we don't use it bc it still lacks capability available on full html editing.

Here's the breaking point:

RE NXT and LO new editor will not create outlook client friendly round corner buttons (LO old HTML based editor can)

LO can send to any list of emails loaded into LO. RE NXT email only send to primary email (or 1 email address) on a constituent record. You cannot use an external list without loading into RE NXT first as constituent records (taking up valuable quota on constituent record band limit). And you cannot email multiple email addresses on same constituent record. (In case you have non constituent spouse that has email in the same main constituent record)
