Event Registration Fees - Different Deadlines

Hello Everyone! Hoping you can help me out with this registration fee question.

We will offer “Early Bird” discounted pricing for some of our events up to a certain deadline and then with switch over to regular pricing. How can I get this set-up in the Events in NXT? I am able to add all of the fees to the Event, but then cannot figure out how to make it so Early Bird Pricing is no longer available after a certain date and the form switches over to regular pricing. Would I need to do this manually on the set deadline? Will changing the registration fees affect other registration information?

@Isabel Alcalde - I recommend you accomplish this with two registration forms. Set up your ‘Early Bird’ form with fees for that specific pricing; put an end-date on the form. Once the deadline passes, start utilizing the second registration form.

For how to organize the registration fees you have two options - create two sets, one for early bird pricing and one for regular pricing; one set with the amounts changed once the switch between forms happens. Personally, I prefer option 1 because you'll be able to easily sort on the registrants that came in during the Early Bird period.

@Austen Brown Thank you so much, Austen! Will the link be the same for each form or will it be two separate links? I am trying to avoid having to update the link everywhere if we do two forms.

2 forms will mean 2 links.

So depending on how you plan to “display” this form, you can use webdev to handle, or redirects.

yourorg.org/event is redirecting to link 1 (early bird), then change it to redirect to link 2 after early bird time is up.

or if you are using embed code, you can use JavaScript to change the link

@Alex Wong Thank you, Alex! I noticed that you can add all the fees to the event, but when you are creating the form you are able to select which fees you want visible. If I went in and only selected the early bird fees and then edited the form later to switch to the regular fees, would that affect the link or the other registrations?

As long as same form.. it is same link. Modified ticket level on form doesn't change link

@Alex Wong Excellent! I am going to test run that since I think it will be easiest to have one form and set a date to go in and edit the visible fees. Thank you!
