Hi, We have donor who wants to use part of a larger donation for a gift membership. His support came as one payment. Does anyone have a way to create a membership without a transaction?

@Carolyn Schwartz I'm not sure this is a “right” way, but I sell Memberships using a Development Office 100% off discount code that we set up for this purpose. It won't help you with your receipting for this gift but at least it gets the membership booked in and you can pull queries based on how many memberships of this type you applied for stewardship purposes. But maybe someone else has a better idea (or hope you figured this out given that I see you post was a week ago!)
