Importing Prospect Ratings ImportID error

Hello all -

I have a lot of experience importing in RE, but havent done it in a few years. I just started at a new org and I am attempting to import some prospect ratings in the validate mode.

Here is the issue im coming across - when I attempt to bring the file in WITHOUT the importID, it tells me i am required to have one (i have the constituent ID). When I add the column in with no entries, it tells me I cannot do that either.

I'm kind of stumped. I had all my premade files at my last job so I was rolling along well, but Im starting over here and wondering if I am just missing one little detail. I combed through the knowledgebase (having to change encoding in notepad was new!) and can't seem to find this answer and i think support is no longer a thing, so i am asking for your help.

I think it's just been too long and you forgot this:

ConsID is required, if you selected “Use the Constituent ID”. ImportID is required if you select (by default it is this option) “Use the Import ID”

So, just make sure you select the “Use the Constituent ID” option.

turns out i had selected update existing records and it should have been create new ones. i KNEW i was just forgetting a box of some sort. thanks @Alex Wong
