Querying on former constituent codes for event attendees

Hello! We are beginning to build out our business rules for using event records in RE and NXT and I am wondering how others have handled the following need.

We are wondering if it's possible to query on event participants' constituent codes as they were when they attended the event. That is to say that if a constituent is now a Board Member but was previously coded as an “Individual” is there a way to look up this historic information without keeping the old constituent code.

My guess is no. So then I'm wondering if anyone has used the Event Participant type to capture this sort of information and how you set up the options for this table. Thanks!

@Clarissa Rice Hampton you could keep date ranges in constituent codes and get outputs based on that and event participation dates. As you mentioned, participant types would be another way to do it. Attached is a screenshot of where you would configure those.

by default, answer is no. The data you seek to report on must exists in RE one way or another. If you want the constituent code data of “past” you must leave the constituent code data in the constituent record with a from/to date.

Another way is to record the constituent code at the time of registration ON the participant record itself via participant attribute (custom fields) or participant option, or note.
