Blackbaud’s Education Management Solutions: What’s New For February 21, 2023

Here are all of the latest changes, updates, and new features for the Education management products for February 21, 2023Academics

New Assessments survey and video playlist

In the Assignment Center and on class Assignments pages, teachers now see a banner linking to a survey on the new Assessment experience. The banner also links to the new Assessments video playlist, which includes videos on Assessment Settings, building Assessment Content, the Student Assessment Experience, and the Teacher Assessment Evaluation Experience.

Partial credit for multiple choice questions

Teachers can now select Allow for partial credit on Multiple Choice questions in assessments. Points awarded will be divided equally by the number of correct answers.

Coming soon: New academic profiles

We are planning to roll out a new version of Academic Profiles to all schools in the first quarter of 2023.
Just like the old Academic Profile, the new 360 Profile displays when you select a student or alumnus via the People finder in Academics. The new profile contains the same features and capabilities as the older Academic Profile (plus a few new tools that we’ll show off in the Community post linked below), but arranged under new tab headings in a more accessible format. Depending on your role at the school, some or all of the following profile areas will be available to you.
To see screenshots of the upcoming 360 Profile and an explanation of the new features, check out the announcement in the K-12 Education Solutions Community.

Enrollment management

Application, Inquiry, and Event Registration Processing

With this release, editing user data is now available for all schools when processing Applications, Inquiries, or Event Registrations. Admissions managers now have access to Edit Users which enables them to modify user information entered on the form. A list of users appears on the left and each can be selected to change data like Prefix, First Name, Home Phone, Data of birth, and more.

Events

Admissions managers now have a Virtual Link placeholder when working with Event registration options notifications.

Financial Aid

We've updated the Financial Aid Awards list, giving it a more modern look and feel for admissions and reenrollment managers and aligning it with other areas like the Candidates list or Visits & interview openings list. The new experience can be accessed through Enrollment management, Financial Aid, and then Financial Aid Awards.

API and Integrations

OneRoster

New

We’ve added a new endpoint, GET Categories for a class.
GET Categories for a class returns an array of categories, with each category represented as a JSON object. The returned categories correspond to the required class_id path parameter in the request.

Changed

We’ve added a new classId property to the categories.metadata object in the response for GET Categories all; the classId property only appears if the new and optional filter parameter is included in the request.
The value of categories.metadata.classId in the response equals the ID of the filter provided in the request.
An example of the filter parameter appended to the end of the endpoint URL: ?filter=metadata.classId='990_2421'

The following endpoints are now accessible by any authorized users:
· Core School levels
· Core years
· Core sessions
· Core terms
· Core grade levels
· Core time zones
· Core roles
· Core custom fields
· Users phone types
· Users address types
· Users gender types
· Academics Departments
· Test and Subtest types
· Types excused types
· Athletics transportation types
· Athletics sports levels
This change is accomplished by adding All school as a permissible role for authenticating with the endpoints.
