What’s New: K12 Product Updates For June 26

Even though we’re taking a summer break from the blogs doesn’t mean we’re doing the same for our monthly releases! The summer sun is out of June is quickly coming to a close, but before we move on to the next month, it’s time to discuss what’s new in the June 26 release.

This month is pretty Core and Academics heavy, but we have a few exciting developments for School Website users as well. Here are just a few of the features coming to you tomorrow, June 26, 2019.

School website: Get creative with even more Photo management tools! We have even more photo management and editing tools this month! Whether you’re adding photos to a class Bulletin Board or on a page under School Website, you can now resize or rotate the photo. In addition, a crop tool enables you to change the shape of the picture and you can edit the image right from the preview. Check the video below for even more details.

Academics: Even more Transcript Builder Improvements! Another month brings even more updates to the new and improved transcript builder. Check the release letter for the complete list, but here are a few of the quality of life additions:
  • Grading managers can now save the template right from the builder without closing it.
  • Past students, past parents, and alumni can now be given access to transcripts.
  • Display courses based on school levels with a new school option to the Display courses in the following order.
  • Grading managers can opt to not display future school years.
Core: Authentication with Blackbaud ID. This month’s release also includes a ton of updates for how platform managers handle Blackbaud ID either individually or in bulk. Honestly, it’s way too much to list all at once here, so make sure to read about all of it right from the release letter.

So, while we may not have release videos anymore, that doesn't mean the video train is shut down either. Oh, not by a long shot. In fact, we're pushing even harder into video content creation, as seen most recently by our two recent teacher specific trailers for grades and report cards. To coincide with this release, we've also put together a very short video detailing the new photo management tools touched on above.

In addition to our usual longer feature videos, you can also expect more of these shorter release feature videos like this going forward. The bonus is that these videos will be much easier to search for since they’re being extracted from the bundled 'K-12 Release X' video. In case you missed it, you can check out the official release letter right here.

That’s going to do it for this week! While you’re out of office enjoying the well-earned summer months, we’ll continue working to keep you up to date on all of the cool stuff we have coming once you get back to the grind in September.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and checking out our content here in the K-12 Community! Leave a like and a comment below if you have any questions, comments, or just want to say hey!
