Exporting if donor made a Tribute gift

I'm creating a donor listing for the last fiscal year, and I've been asked to include some type of indication if the donor made any type of Tribute gift (during the last fiscal year, not for all time). Is there some way with a Constituent Export to do this?

The best way I can think of currently is to export all gifts from last year, with the Tribute Type column for the gift. I don't need to say if this was "in memory" or "in honor" or who the tribute names, simply that there was a tribute.

Thank you.

  • Chris-you can run a Tribute report and have it create the query for you. There are 4 in database view and I think 2 in webview. One of them is the donor list. If that doesn't work for you, then yes... The path r you're on will get you there

You can also run a gift query to find only the tribute gifts during the timeframe you want. Under the main Gift node, scroll down to find Tribute Gift which is probably the last field. Add your date parameters and gift types as filters, and include the constituent ID in your output. That will make it very easy to do a VLOOKUP in Excel to add the tribute gift indicator to your main list.

This implies, of course, that you have the Tribute module and every tribute gift is connected appropriately.

Throwing Power Automate into the mix. You could run an ad hoc query with tribute info included and then filter it through a flow to list the tribute inclusion how you want within an excel document.

You can do this pretty easily with Constituent Query (and like Austen said, you can use Query API to automate if you want).

You can change "Gift Date equals Last calendar year" to your fiscal year date range. THis criteria will give you all donor that gave a gift for tribute. (no dup as we are using summary of gift info for total number of gifts.

then output. If you don't use to use given tribute as criteria, you can just use the output and any number in this column greater than 0 means they gave tribute donation

You also may want to create a constituent Query List with the gift date range, the gift types you want included (Cash, Pledge, etc - however your org goes this), then under gifts, there is a field called Tribute Gift and select equals Yes and include that either in your query output or in the export you use, which you can then do Tribute type, Date, description, whatever you choose under tributes in the export.
