Name tags for Events - one for each spouse?

I'm new to the Events tab, and want to be able to use the name tag function. However, with participants who are coming with their spouse, it doesn't appear that I can print one name tag for each person. For example: it can do John Smith OR Jane Smith OR John & Jane Smith, but it can't do one for John Smith and a separate one for Jane Smith. Am I missing something or is this not available?

Honestly, I would not bother with the nametag function at all. An organization I used to work for did this and it was a huge timewaster. It was, however, a school that included class year on a nametag, so that might have complicated it. But the nametag format they wanted was to have the first name or nickname in large font on one line, and the last name on a second line. If you set up the nametag format, you have less control when merging into nametags.

If you have the non-constituent spouses entered as event participants, you should be able to run a participant export and extract the components of a name. This way, you have more control over the merge that creates the nametags.
