Is Gift Batch Going Away In Database View after Today 4/1/2026?

Hi Everyone - during the most recent Town Hall, it was mentioned that Gift Batching in Database view will be unavailable after today. Is this truly the case, or was it just a rumor?

Praying it isn't because plug-ins I currently use (that have an unreleased web-view solution) will no longer be able available making gift entry impossible for me (large daily volume, etc.)

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

I highly doubt that this is the case for the following reasons: I would have expected to receive at least one if not several emails from BB informing of the impending turn off of the feature in dbv as happened when features were turned off in database view of Financial Edge and moved exclusively to web view. Also, not every functionality of gift batch in dbv is already available in wv batch. They are planned, in process of being implemented but not yet operational. I would expect that for something as critical as gift batch, dbv will not be turned off before everything is working in wv.

I agree with @Tatyana Leifman. I do not believe this is the case. Not all functionality is currently available in Web View batch, like tributes and stock gifts. With something this big, Blackbaud, I'm sure would send multiple reminders letting us know when to expect things.

Hi Michaela, I hope you’re doing well! I attended one of the town halls for the batch grid demo and don’t recall Brian mentioning this, though there were several sessions, so it’s possible I was in a different one.

I did want to share that, at the most recent PUB, Blackbaud was very clear going forward that they plan to sunset features only when the database view itself sunsets, which is currently estimated for 2027.

This came up specifically in response to feedback after their late 2025 announcement about potentially “turning off” queries in the database view in February 2026, which they ultimately did not do because of that feedback.

All-Stars also met just a few days ago, and I can say with confidence that this would have been a very hot topic if that were the case.

Hi, I was at that Town Hall today. It was an April Fool's joke. :) Nothing is going away in the db view until the whole thing goes away, currently planned for "by the end of Q2 2027" — i.e., June 30, 2027. 2027 - seven - not this year.
