ROI for Alumni Events

How to generate an ROI report for Alumni Events/dinners? We do a couple of events around the year, and then Gift officers follow up with them for other interactions, which leads to gifts later on. Is there a way to track donations based on the engagement levels?

If other organizations have done this, please advise on how it is being approached

    not sure what you mean by "donation based on the engagement levels".

    if you have an event and donor gave "because" of the event, or subsequent follow up on the event, then you can code the gift to the event appeal code.

    for example

    Appeal = Event
    Package = Post Event Solicitation

    Piggy-backing on Alex's post, I'd suggest the gift officers add in Opportunities for those they solicit and tie the gifts that do come in so that you would know who completed the full circuit and who didn't.

  • Thank you for the suggestion, it's hard to track ROI for gifts when they are not connected to the event. Because of interactions and keeping in touch things happen. Issue is there is no way to measure the influence of human interactions.

  • we measure it by adding a relevant appeal to the gift record like suggested above - it's quick to query on and easy to record
