Security by Constituency

Question

Hi,

Is anyone using Security by Constituency in database view security groups? We are having issues with the users not being able to search for relationships associated with the constituent in RE NXT and we are wondering if anyone else has come across this and/or has a solution.

I have spoken to Blackbaud and they say that the feature is working as designed. Since the relationship has no constituency code, you can therefore not see the relationships in the search results.

Has anyone run across this issue?

Amanda, database security is coming over to web view security either in the last quarter of this year or the first of next year.  BB hasn't said much more than this, but attend the PUB this fall and watch the RE NXT blog in this community as they begin to share more on that.  Maybe at bbcon, too?  Don't know.  But no one in the community likely knows anything more than this right now, sorry.

Does anyone know how we will be able to control security by constituency when database view is mothballed? I haven't seen a way to edit this in NXT - we use this, plus security by note type, for a few highly sensitive records.

I think we figured out a solution. If you only restrict and don't choose the allow option then the users can search the relationships. I'm not sure why, but it works.
