[3 April Unexpected Downtime 8am -9am BST ] Resolved Immediately

It was reported that intermittent exception errors were thrown while using GIFTS Online between 8am -9am BST today (3 April 2018). These errors were also confirmed in our Application Monitoring. The Azure “WaAppAgent.exe”  process which is responsible for the installation, configuration and update of the “WindowsAzureGuestAgent” agent had ballooned up to 23GB of memory which affected the database performance causing it to not respond to request in a timely manner. The process was stopped and service returned to normal. We have put extra monitoring in place around this process and will also be upgrading the VM size so more memory is available to the database server.
