A look back at Blackbaud’s celebration of PRIDE month

Published

At Blackbaud, we believe it is important to work as one toward equality every day of the year. We have come so far in our journey, and we will continue to evolve through learning and inclusivity for all.

June marks a time when people across the world celebrate PRIDE month—a time to recognize change agents pushing for equal rights for the LGBTQIA+ community.

This year, we released a beautiful new theme, Human: Our Common Thread, which is Blackbaud's representation of the beauty of how we are all human and connected. For PRIDE, this design reflects how we are connected across sexual orientation and gender identity/expression and is a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Throughout the month, we also shared new ways to engage and empower our employees by sharing educational and informative resources that were made available to our entire global workforce as well as introducing PRIDE-themed Microsoft Teams backgrounds and t-shirts with our new design.

Our employee-led PRIDE group actively led engagement activities all month long including hosting a virtual happy hour, coordinating a community service project, creating a PRIDE Spotify playlist, hosting a guest speaker, wearing the colors of the PRIDE flag, and so much more!

At Blackbaud, we believe it is important to work as one toward equality every day of the year. We have come so far in our journey, and we will continue to evolve through learning and inclusivity for all.

Happy PRIDE.

Dear Blackbaud,

I'm disappointed in your support for this radical agenda that seeks to redefine marriage and sexuality, family and culture. Unfortunately, PRIDE isn't just about celebrating human rights, but rather about imposing an agenda. It's an agenda that fails to recognize simple facts of biology, sociology and culture that have been understood for thousands of years, and it seeks to silence, marginalize and punish those who choose the traditional view. Jack Phillips is a case in point - a man who is being harassed and bullied because he refuses to abandon his basic and reasonable convictions.

Marriage and the family are important to our culture. A biological understand of sexuality is basic to human existence. On this Independence weekend we recall that religious liberty and freedom of speech are part and parcel of our nation's history and fabric. Blackbaud would do well to support these.

This is great for June and I hope that the threads continue throughout the year!

Very happy to see Blackbaud is supporting PRIDE month.
