Where do you live? "Takoma Park, Maryland"

What do you like to do for fun? "Tennis, Food, Wine, Friends, and Travel."

What’s a life achievement you are particularly proud of? "My President's Call to Volunteer Service Award for Lifetime Acheivement from the White House."


What’s one memory that always makes you smile? "The Pony Rides in Griffith Park in Los Angeles."

What is one interesting fact about yourself most people don't know?
"I once saved Bishop Tutu's life when I was in high school... LINK!"

What are three things on your bucket list? "African Safari, Orient Express Train Trip, House in Tuscany.


Tell us about your organization: "Since our founding in 1977, Capital Caring has helped families and loved ones make the most of every moment together by offering coordinated care, comfort, and dignity to those living with serious illness.

We trace our roots to a small group of committed volunteers in northern Virginia, but have since grown to be the largest nonprofit hospice provider in the mid-Atlantic region. With a service area of more than 17,000 square miles, we are in your neighborhood and are ready to provide world-class care whenever — and wherever — you need it.

Capital Caring provides excellent pain relief and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, and compassion to families across the region. Our health professionals – including more than 20 staff doctors – deliver some of the best care in the United States."

What’s a typical day like for you? "Calling, writing and seeing donors."

What’s the best part of your job? "Building relationships with our donors."

What advice would you give someone starting out in the non-profit field? "Be bold and couragegeos and find an organizations that appriciaites your unique talents."

What do you love about the Blackbaud Community? "That you can vote for each other's bright ideas and it shows if they are being slated for implementation."
Finally.. if you were a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be? "A Hero Sandwich!"
