Raise more money with Personal Fundraising Pages

I dusted off my latest copy of "The Next Generation of American Giving: The Charitable Habits of Generation Z, Millennials, Generation X, Baby Boomers, and Matures" and you know what I found, staring at me STRAIGHT IN THE FACE?

Do you know what this means? All Generations participate in Peer-to-Peer fundraising. In fact, "Peer-to-peer fundraising—including the runs, walk-a-thons, and bike-a-thons that are especially popular in the health sector—draws upon all generations, but in different ways. As Figure 7 suggests, the actual walkers, bikers, etc. are more likely to be Gen X or younger. Conversely, those most likely to sponsor said athletes are Boomers and Matures. It’s one of the few possible instances of generational symbiosis in the data."

If you need ideas for a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, check this out. If you do not have the staff to help coordinate one of those many program types, it could be just as simple as promoting the personal fundraising option to your current supporter list.

I know what you are thinking...Nothing is ever simple. But I swear, this is.
1. Go to JustGiving.com and in the search window, look up your organization's name
2. In the results, open your page. This is a like a landing page of sorts where supporters can either fundraise for you, or give directly to your organization.
3. Copy the link to this page.

Now, you can send an email to your supporters, directing them to that page. When they click the fundraise button, they can select the type of fundraiser to participate and BOOM! You just launched your first P2P fundraising efforts.

Don't let a lack of ideas or the inability to coordinate something extravagant de-motivate you from a P2P success. Take the sample text below and personalize it for an email blast like no other! You can also download this Fundraiser Guide for some recommendations for how they can make their pages a success.

We love peer-to-peer fundraising and find it very valuable for a couple of events we do during the year. That being said, we find it nearly impossible to engage the day-in-day-out donors this way. We think it is because our donor base is aging and just not that tech savvy.
