Seeding Payments for Historic Regular Giving Payment Importing

Hi All,

In our Organisation, we are currently looking at importing some historic regular giving payments into our system* which were missed during a period of time where were switching from our previous CRM to Raisers Edge. For the most part, I have found that the import has gone through fine, but we are running into issues with any payments that require a regular giving agreement inputted in the system.

I have tried creating these agreements, with unique gift ID's, but it still wouldn't register as an existing gift when trying to do action the import. When I contacted Raisers Edge, they advised I create a seeding payment into each new agreement so the system could identify it. I tried this with a sub-section of the import, but still ran into the same issue, "this gift id does not exist".

I was just wondering if anyone has had to do a similar task, and would have any advice on how to best commence with this. Or, if not, could give me some tips and insight on how you might go about it.

*For context, these are regular giving agreements that are processed externally to Raisers Edge initially.
