re: just giving integration query

hi all,

hope we are looking forward to the weekend ahead.

just a thought, how are others mapping donations in the system which are essentially coming from "anonymous" donors? currently all donations filter into an "anonymous anonymous" constituent profile that our previous database coordinator had set up. We do currently already have an "anonymous donations" constituent profile which we use for all anonymous donations outside of this, so wonder if its worth mapping them into this already existing profile. I am unsure though, there might have been a reason the last coordinator set this up.

I'd really appreciate some guidance where possible.

  • We put ours into a "JustGiving" organisation record, which is our anonymous placeholder. For ease of exclusion, I'd be tempted to collate your anonymous records, unless there is a compelling reason not to!

Ours go to just the one same Dr Anonymous Donation record that all our anonymous donations go to.

I like the idea of a JustGiving anonymous record.

I worked at a large organization that had been funneling all anonymous donations into a single record, and it became excruciatingly slow to load. Then we started doing an anonymous record for each fiscal year, as well as a "Raffle Anonymous" and "Tribute Anonymous" record.

I'm not sure if your volume is high enough that you would have the same issue of records being slow to load, but I do like that first-level categorization of the source of the donation.
