Post Office Box as the Primary Address 490

Post Office Box as the Primary Address

Published

Can we find wealth when a Post Office Box is the primary address?

Last week, someone came to me very concerned that they would not be able to find assets linked to their prospects in ResearchPoint because many had given them PO Boxes as primary addresses. While it is true that you are more likely to find assets if you have a home address as the primary address, don't forget the complex matching algorithums that ResearchPoint is using. This may help to connect the dots with the tax assessors' databases or the "executives at home" file that Dun & Bradstreet maintains. Also, if they are using their PO Box as their primary address with you, they may be using the PO Box as the primary address for many of their other lists as well.

To give you a few examples, I've pulled up some visuals for you.  Here is an example using real estate.  Mr. Lucas owns many properties, but he finds it convenient to mail all the tax bills back to the one PO Box that we had on file as his primary address.  So essentially, the PO Box we had as his primary address is his business address.

For my second example, you will see the Dun & Bradstreet records may return several addresses if found.  Though we matched our prospect's given primary address PO Box with the mailing address of his business, note that Dun & Bradstreet has now connected us with a home address for him as well based on their "Executives at Home" file.  We now have several addresses for this prospect (and ResearchPoint has added them to the matching algorithum)

My final example of where a Post office box can actually help you with your research is with the Larkspur Hidden Wealth return. Of course this match can direct you towards addititional wealth tied to the PO Box, but many times you may find a second Larkspur hit tied to the home address as well.  But for wealth identification sake, to answer the first question posed, here is another screenshot:

Again, not every PO Box will return assets - just as not every primary address will return assets. But to remind you, if indeed you find that there are no assets tied to that PO Box and you still need research on that prospect, don't forget your Home/Search page and Search>Find New Prospects.

Please post in Target Analytics Community any unique PO Box encounters you've had -

Still having trouble with P.O. Boxes. It works better if I search and find a physical address.
