- What is the first thing I must do?
- Confirm that you use a Blackbaud Payment Services (BBPS) account and a Blackbaud Merchant Services (BBMS) account for each of your donation forms . What is the difference between BBPS and BBMS?
- If you do not have a BBMS account, we recommend setting one up, as this will be our primary gateway for supporting the upcoming PCI v4.0 changes. Visit Getting Started with Blackbaud Merchant Services for step-by-step instructions.
- Do I need to make any changes?
- Yes. To meet PCI v4.0 requirements, you must add either the new embedded or modal checkout elements to all active donation forms. Both checkout elements will be available by the end of Q4 2024.
- How can my organization prepare now?
- Review all your donation forms and unpublish any forms no longer being used. This will help you focus on the forms that are currently active.
- To assist with this, we have added some new columns to the Donations by Form report in the recent release. These will help you understand the Status of your donation form, and where transactions are coming from for that form, whether it be via Standard or API, which can assist with clean up. - What is the deadline to complete these changes?
- All active donation forms must be unpublished or updated with the new payment elements by Feb 15th, 2025.
- Will my existing forms be impacted by the release of the new checkout solutions?
- Existing forms will continue to work with existing configurations through 2024 Q4 and up to the compliance deadline date.
