Resources for Blackbaud Hosting Users

Published
Many users of Blackbaud Hosting Services have questions about how the hosting environment is different from the local environment, or how to perform specific functions within hosting. Here are some of the tools we have highlighted this year to make the transition easier, as well as some helpful additional resources:

User Management: For information on adding users, changing passwords, password requirements, and adding users to groups, please see our post Hosting FAQ: Managing Hosting Users.

Windows Authentication: If you prefer to use a single username and password to log into the Blackbaud Hosting landing page and access your hosted application, you can reference the blog post, Too Many Passwords? Do You Want to Log into The Raiser’s Edge by Just Double-Clicking The Icon? – This post is on The Raiser’s Edge blog, but the steps can be applied to The Financial Edge and The Education Edge as well.

Printing: The user’s default printer is available through the Citrix Receiver connection to the hosted environment. For more information on printing, including how to print to a printer other than the default printer, please review Best Practices for Printing from Blackbaud Hosting Services.

Files Folder: Blackbaud Hosting Services has a temporary storage space on our servers for moving information between your local environment and the hosted application. Some of you can also access files directly from your desktop.  Tips for accessing and using the Files folder can be found in the post Hosting FAQ: Files Folder.

Additional Resources: You may find it helpful to review some of the additional resources on the Blackbaud website, such as the Hosting for Beginners page, which includes links to training videos, and the Blackbaud Hosting Services FAQs section in our Knowledgebase.

The Hosting Support team also offers a free weekly Webinar which goes over all of the points mentioned above in real-time with resources available to answer questions throughout the presentation. More details on the Webinar can be found in our previous post, Free Introductory Webinars for Blackbaud Hosting!
If you have questions, please create a case on Case Central, choose your product, and select the Blackbaud Application Hosting topic or contact our Hosting Support team using our chat feature.
