Blackbaud Hosting Receives Security Certifications

Our customers know that it is vitally important to protect the personal information of their donors as well as comply with the PCI standards put in place by the credit card industry to prevent identity theft. This is why the responsibility for the security of the data is a top priority for Blackbaud. It also allows your organization to leave the security of your hosted data to us, while your users focus on the tasks necessary for achieving your mission. Over the past several months Blackbaud has undergone independent third-party audits and received the following certifications for the hosted environment:
SOC 2 Audit Report
The SOC 2 Report confirms that Blackbaud has implemented the best internal practices to verify security, availability, and confidentiality in the data hosting environment. Specifically, third party auditors have attested that Blackbaud has implemented strong controls within these key operating areas.
PCI DSS Compliance Report
Blackbaud has successfully completed the annual onsite PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) validation for Blackbaud Payment Services and Blackbaud Sphere. The onsite validation specifically targets Blackbaud’s network components, servers, and applications connected to the cardholder data environment. The cardholder data environment includes that part of our hosting environment which possesses cardholder data or sensitive authentication data.
SOC 1 Audit Report for The Financial Edge
Blackbaud’s Service Delivery Operations has achieved a SOC 1, Type 1, Service Organization Control Report (also referred to as SSAE16) for The Financial Edge. The SOC 1 examination assesses controls at a service organization, like Blackbaud, that are relevant to clients’ internal control over financial reporting. Blackbaud’s SOC 1 Report for Financial Edge is a Type 1 report as of December 31, 2012.
