Every Day Heroes fundraise on Blackbaud Peer-to-Peer Fundraising™, powered by JustGiving™

As previous everydayhero™ administrators help their supporters move over to JustGiving™, it is important to set the right expectations. Today, let’s look at helpful resources to ensure your advocates transition as smoothly as possible.

Blackbaud Peer-to-Peer Fundraising™, powered by JustGiving™ supports individuals crowdfunding for causes they care about. Your supporters, who volunteer their time, network and voice to help advocate for your mission, can easily set up personal fundraising pages in just a few minutes. Having the technology in place to facilitate a positive experience for your allies is crucial, perhaps even more so when you are transitioning from one solution to another.

JustGiving is the global leader in P2P fundraising, with over 27 million users in 160+ countries. To learn more about the fundraiser experience, watch our Introduction to supporter created fundraising pages video.

The first step in supporting your fans through this change is likely to announce it to them. Below is a sample email and social media post you can repurpose if desired.

Header Text: We are transitioning from everydayhero to Blackbaud Peer-to-Peer Fundraising™, powered by JustGiving™

For over [STATE HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN USING EVERYDAYHERO], [ORG NAME] has used everydayhero to facilitate peer-to-peer fundraising. We know supporters like you are looking for means to stay engaged and help advance our mission to [STATE MISSION]. That is why we are always considering ways to make donations go a little further, offer meaningful connections, and empower supporters to get involved. We will soon transition to a new peer-to-peer fundraising tool to better support these goals.
With JustGiving, you can create a personal fundraiser by clicking here [LINK TO YOUR CHARITY PAGE ON JUSTGIVING]. What ever you can dream up, you can do by fundraising your own way! Alternatively, [IF YOU HAVE ANY RECURRING EVENTS ON EDH THAT WILL MOVE TO JUSTGIVING, SET EXPECTATIONS HERE]. If you are actively fundraising on everydayhero now, we will reach out and help you recreate a page on JustGiving before [INSERT DATE].

We appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm to fundraise on our behalf. We are also really excited to offer you the best personal fundraising pages available. Your new page will support live video from YouTube, Mixr or Twitch, allow you to create teams with your family and friends, as well as track your fitness if you integrate a Strava account. More information to come but in the meantime, know we could not have made the same impact without your participation and look forward to fundraising together.

Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME]

Pro Tip: Consider using a free tool like Canva or your graphic designer to create compelling imagery for your email header and social media posts.

We recommend you have someone on the team as the primary point of contact for your volunteer fundraisers. This person can reach out to anyone actively fundraising on everydayhero now and help shepherd them over to JustGiving. All individual fundraisers on everydayhero will need to create a personal page on JustGiving in order to collect funds after November 30, 2020. In anticipation of supporter inquiries, review our FAQs below.

Support-led Frequently Asked Questions
  1. What happens to my page after November 30th? No donations can be processed through everydayhero after November 30th. To continue fundraising, you will need to create a personal page prior to that.
  2. What if I am fundraising on everydayhero right now? What should I do? We recommend you create a personal page on JustGiving. Because donor names and amounts from everydayhero will not carry over to your new page, we recommend you enter an offline gift for the total sum raised on your everydayhero page. You can also use the Story section of your page to list the donors names and say thanks or reach out to them in advance and let them know you have a new page and are sorry the history did not carry over.
  3. How do I create a page on JustGiving? Setting up a page is quick and easy. You can click the Start Fundraising button on our campaign (for event or project specific fundraising) or profile page (for DIY fundraising).
  4. Will my existing everydayhero page redirect to my new one? We recommend you email your friends and family a link to your new page, as well as share it on social media as the everydayhero link will not redirect.

Lastly, we realize you may have an existing fundraiser guide that needs to be updated with instructions for creating and managing pages on JustGiving. These help documents are easily accessible by your fundraisers and can be repurposed to update any of your existing documentation or used by your staff to support your fundraisers.
