Deadline June 8th To Submit An Idea You Can Bring To Life With An Innovation Grant!

Have an idea for a creative project? Apply to get development support! Blackbaud is accepting applications now for Innovation Grants to be awarded to members of our community who propose projects of value to both their organization and the social impact community as a whole:

• Innovation grants provide approximately 40 hours of professional services credits to help winners bring their bold ideas to life.
• Completed projects will be published/shared online for the benefit of the greater community.
• Projects will be delivered during our Off The Grid event July 18-20.

Apply for Innovation Grants in these categories by creating a two minute (or less) video “pitch” for your project idea:

Off The Grid 2023 Award

This award recognizes the best customer suggestion for Off The Grid, Blackbaud’s immersive 48-hour virtual build experience. This award helps sponsor a customer whose proposal shows the best combination of innovation, impact to the community, and highlights Blackbaud’s world class developer tools.


The Off The Grid theme this year is Generative Artificial Intelligence. Projects must use AI to generate tools, templates, data, imagery, websites, or anything your creative mind conjures up for the benefit of the not-for-profit community!

To Apply: Pitch your Off The Grid Award idea in an informal video that includes:

• Introduce yourself and your role/organization
• Explain the problem you are trying to solve
• Indicate the impact/outcome you expect the project to help achieve
• Include the specific Blackbaud product it applies to, if relevant
• Explain how this suggestion will make use of Generative AI technology
• Make your video brief: two minutes or less.

Microsoft Power Platform Award

This award will go to the best proposed use of Microsoft Power Platform. Blackbaud will give Microsoft three choices, and they select the winner!

To Apply: Pitch your Microsoft Power Platform Award idea in an informal video that includes:

• Introduce yourself and your role/organization
• Explain the problem you are trying to solve
• Indicate the impact/outcome you expect the project to help achieve
• Include the specific Blackbaud product it applies to, if relevant
• Comment on how you plan to use Microsoft Power Platform to solve an organizational challenge

How Is Your Data 2023 Award

Who says data can’t change the world? This award will go to an individual with a great idea for how to improve representation of data trends or analysis and includes a process for turning this data / report into actionable steps to achieve a goal.

To Apply: Pitch your How Is Your Data Award idea in an informal video that includes:

• Introduce yourself and your role/organization
• Explain the problem you are trying to solve
• Indicate the impact/outcome you expect the project to help achieve
• Include the specific Blackbaud product it applies to, if relevant
• Explain how you will turn your data output into actionable items at your organization

Vision 2023 Award

This award recognizes an individual with a next-level idea that will solve a problem for their organization and substantially benefit the greater community. This award will be voted on by attendees during bbdevdays, with the award credits going towards the actual creation of this winning idea. Blackbaud will review all submissions and select between 3-5 candidates to reach the voting round.
