Team Access to SKY Applications Releasing Soon

Published

In the very near future, SKY Application owners will be able to give team members access to their applications. With this new feature, teams can access applications assigned to them, even if the original application owner leaves the organization.

When application owners give team members access to their application, each team member’s application-related permissions are determined by their role. For example, team members with the Team admin role have owner-level permissions, so they have access to everything.

What this means for you

Before the feature releases on or around July 29, 2024, review team members’ assigned roles in My teams and adjust them as needed. This ensures that users have the right application-level permissions and prevents unwanted access, adhering to the principle of least privilege.

Team roles and app access levels

Here’s how team roles correspond to application-level permissions:

  • Team admin: can edit all application settings, manage users, transfer ownership, and delete the application
  • Developer: can view OAuth client secrets, edit application settings, including reviewing inquiries and editing marketing information
  • Marketer: can view everything on the application, except for the applications OAuth client secrets, see information on the Settings tab and edit information on the Marketplace tab, including responding to reviews and inquiries
  • Business manager: can view everything on the application, except for the applications OAuth client secrets

For more information on roles, see Team member roles.

If you’re unable to adjust roles before team members are given access to the application, you can edit their role or revoke their access to the application later.
