Coming Soon – Add-in Name Update!
An update is coming to the name you enter for your SKY Add-in from the SKY Developer application record page.
Previously, we stated that the add-in name was a reference for your use only and not intended to be visible to the end user. Updates coming to Blackbaud products means this name could soon be visible to end users.
We recommend you review your add-in name by September 13, 2024 and consider whether it needs any revisions to make it meaningful to end users. We are already including your application name, so no need to include that as well.
To edit, from the Application record page, in the Add-in tile, select the menu for the add-in name you want to update. Select Edit and then enter the updated name.
Tip: We don't recommend including any Blackbaud product names for the add-in, instead focus on the value it brings to the end user. Shorter is better too. The maximum character count is 75 characters, but when visible in a Blackbaud solution, the shorter names display better.

which Add ins is this relevant for? For example, Development Office Home Action (Preview) Add ins currently take the name of the link created in the Home Actions from the url query parameter ‘title’. Will that be changing to be the name of the Addin?
Hi Zane, thank you for your question. No, there is no change to how the tile/link renders the name. However, for the upcoming changes, we can't use the name that's embedded, so we'll be using the name you give your add-in on the Application record.
Hi, can you be more specific as to where the add-in name will be displayed?
I can't be specific about the future changes, as it's part of an upcoming announcement. But, I can share that they are potentially currently visible on the Portal and Donation Forms.
