The Value Of Face To Face

My daughter is a tech-crazed millennial, so I thought she’d be excited when she had all online classes during her junior year in college. However, she said she would really miss connecting and sharing with the other students—face to face. Technology has enabled us to connect with others in so many ways, but nothing seems to replace sitting in a room with others—sharing, learning, and networking.

Many of you have taken our Organizational Best Practices workshop-style courses in virtual classrooms. We’ve heard great comments about how much you love the ideas shared and the lessons learned. But, like my daughter, you want that face-to-face experience. So, we’ve created 2 new Regional Organizational Best Practices (OBP) workshops, where you can meet at a Regional location in your area—and experience that added face-to-face value.

  • In the OBP: Fundraising and Certification Regional workshop, explore how your organization can measure and share impact, create donation-inspiring case statements, increase major giving, and retain current donors
  • In the OBP: Marketing and Certification Regional workshop, identify the value of personas, build and share your brand, make supporters feel welcomed, and increase engagement with social media
Bonus: As you share and learn, use the workbook you’re given during the course to record your notes and identify next steps to implement changes. Plus, you can use the workbook templates to design everything from impact statements, brand guides, and marketing calendars.

Bonus: Each of the Regional workshops includes the opportunity to become Blackbaud certified in Fundraising or Marketing.

  • There isn’t a Regional course scheduled in my area. What can I do?
    Check back often—more Regionals, in additional areas, will be added throughout the year. Also, click the Notify me of new sessions link at the bottom of any Regional course page in Blackbaud Training Central. Our scheduling team will notify you when a new Regional event is added.
  • I’ve taken some courses virtually; is there a value to taking the courses at a Regional location?
    Yes, that’s one of the great things about our OBP courses. Each time the course is delivered, new insights are shared and learned. Plus, our Regional courses include additional activities and more time for networking and sharing. 
  • Are the Regionals included in my OBP Learn® subscription?
    No, but you can purchase any 2-day OBP Regional workshop for $600.
  • How can I share this Regional experience with my entire team?
    Your organization can opt for the entire team to attend a Regional event, or you can contact your Blackbaud Account Executive to have a private team training scheduled at your organization.
