1) Create or join a team - Team captains and team members are on average more successful at raising funds than individuals who go at it alone.  Our collective effort is ever more powerful than anything we can do alone.

2) Donate to your own page - Fundraising pages that receive at least one donation with in 48 hours raise more.  Being the first to make a donation to your campaign shows commitment, dedication and sets the tone for your supporters.  People who do this on average receive 120% more donations than those who don’t.

3) Upload a profile photo - Donors want to see who they're supporting.  Adding a photo helps to personalize your page and provides a human connection to your fundraising. People who do this raise up to 10 times more.

4)  Share your story and post page updates - Tell people what motivated you to start your fundraising, and continue to post updates through out your journey.  Adding a few words about why you're fundraising can help you raise up to 74% more.

5) Share your page -  Our most successful fundraisers share their page within an hour of creating it.  People who share their page within an hour of creating it generally raise 52% more than everyone else.  Use the built in share tools on your fundraising page to easily ask for support.  Email is the most effective outreach tool, followed by social media.

6) Say thank you -  A simple but critical piece of your fundraising. On everydayhero, you can write a personal thank you note to your donor directly from your supporter page. Donors who feel appreciated are more likely to donate to you again. In your thank you note, you might even ask them to join you by becoming a fundraiser or sharing your campaign with others.

7) Connect your MapMyFitness or Strava – Giving is more than just money.  Every mile you do, every hour you give, every calorie you burn is energy giving focus to your cause.  When you connect your MMF or Strava to your everydayhero page, your fitness activities automatically upload to your supporter page (you can also add your fitness efforts manually).  When you share these efforts, it inspires others to support you, which inspires you to keep going.  #EverythingCounts

Sharing these tips with your supporters and encouraging them to take action will help them raise more money and help you be more successful. We've even created a handy dandy hand out that you can share with your supporters.
