Feel As Powerful As A Greek God Using RE NXT Reporting

My son, Benjaman, dressed as Zeus for his school's Greek Fest. Seeing him and how powerful the Zeus costume made him feel, made me realize how I feel a little Zeus-like myself using the powerful reporting tools in RE NXT.

Before RE NXT, the Development Directors I work with were entirely dependent on me to continuously produce daily and weekly reports for tracking campaigns and appeals. Producing these took time each and every day, and if I weren't in the office, then the team didn't have current, up to date reports until I got back in the office. Criminy, I need to take a break now and then! 😎 🌴 Or maybe go to bbcon! 😁 🏨

Then along came RE NXT, and it gave me the power to create reports that would automatically update and be available to development directors, even if I weren't personally available to produce them on any given day.

For example, using the Reporting tool in RE NXT, I was able to set up a dashboard for the Annual Appeal showing 12 reports, summaries and visualizations. Just a few examples:

• Summaries: Gift amount committed, Gift amount received, Pledge amount past due
• Visualizations (bar graphs): Gift total amount by constituent code, Fund giving, Appeal giving

The team is able to view this dashboard whenever they want, from wherever they want! Development Directors are imbued with power as well, easily drilling down into the summaries and producing lists as needed, like collections contact lists. They are no longer dependent on me spoon feeding them updated data. For me and the Development Directors, that's a win-win!

Tips on how I learned how to set up dashboards:

1. In Blackbaud University, I took courses on RE NXT, which gave me a kick start to building dashboards.
2. In Blackbaud Community, I read discussions, blogs, including the What's New updates, and watched how-to videos other community members suggested - super helpful! (Thank you, my fellow Community members!!)

I may not have a lightning bolt to wield, but RE NXT Reporting, for me, is the next best thing! And it can be for you too! Just get into RE NXT Reporting and supercharge your reports!
