FE7 - Tag - you're it!

Where's my report?  Which report do I run?  It's month end and I can't find my report!  Have you ever had this problem?  Sometimes it can be so difficult to find the right version of a report or someone has edited your report!  Well, one tip I can share with you is to TAG your reports!  When I first arrived here at Chimp Haven, yes we are a sanctuary for retired chimpanzees, we had several pages of specific reports that each member of our finance and accounting team would run.  None of these reports had TAGS!  So we were constantly looking for just the right report.  Take a look at this long list of reports....


Did you notice there were many reports with similar names and only ONE is tagged!

Why should users add TAGS?
First, it's a quick and easy way to identify and find current reports using TAGS.  It so simple to search by the TAGGED year or by the TAGGED purpose.  Is the report for month end or year end or for the auditors?  Are there monthly reports or reports just for the Board of Directors?   If so, just TAG it!  No more wondering which file is it?




Next, it's an easy way to save time.  By using TAGS the user doesn't have to look through a long list to find the right report!  I know we were constantly running reports only to find that it wasn't the right report.  Now with TAGS, our users can immediately access the correct version and save valuable time.  The clock is ticking, the deadline is near, why can't I find my report?  Sound familiar - save time and TAG your reports!


Finally, using TAGS may win you new friends!  Do you have some users who are particular and really are creatures of habit?  You probably know some people who pack a suitcase a special way, or someone who folds towels and sheets a certain way.  Well I know a few team members who prefer to have their reports all to themselves.  They don't like others using their reports.  So if you also have co-workers like this, show them how to TAG their reports and you'll be their new best friend!
