What's New (April 14)
We hope everyone celebrated a blessed and happy Easter with no technical difficulties. Here are the latest features in Blackbaud Church Management!
Small groups
Building on recent improvements to support small groups who use online services such as Zoom or Google Hangouts, admins can now add virtual meeting links so leaders can share them with their members. Previously, only leaders could add online links from their small group pages and MobileMission.
From Constituents, Small groups, select the name of a small group. Under Meetings, select Edit meeting from the primary meeting’s menu. Choose to edit all the meetings in the series and then in the Location field, enter the virtual meeting link. For more information, see Small Group Records.
VolunteersCalendar -- To help you easily see all your church’s daily volunteer opportunities, you can now switch the calendar in Volunteers to a day view. Previously, the calendar was only available as a month view.
Email volunteers -- To help communicate with your church’s volunteers, such as to coordinate upcoming meetings, you can now email them directly from Volunteers. To send an email to all volunteers, you can select Email from:
-
All volunteers or a team under Volunteers
-
The opportunity record under Volunteers
-
The position record under Volunteer record
For more information, see Email volunteers.
WorkflowsSet giving criteria for Workflow designer -- You can now set gift criteria to include people in workflows from Workflow designer. For example, you can create a workflow and set it to only include people who give a first gift over $50. Previously, you could only set gift criteria for workflows from Lists.
From Tools, Workflow designer, create a new workflow. When you add the first step, choose Select criteria and set the gift conditions to use.
Note: Workflows check for congregants who meet the criteria every night beginning the date you activate the workflow.
For more information, see Congregant criteria.
View workflow performance details -- To help track performance, you can now view how many people a workflow applies to.
From Tools, Workflow designer, select a workflow's name to view how many people it's applied to since it was activated, how many it currently applies to, and how many completed it. You can also view when it was activated, who created it, and who last modified it.
To provide a more complete view of a congregant's giving, you can now view unapproved gifts under Giving history on a congregant’s constituent record. An alert appears when the congregant has gifts pending approval in a batch. To view the batch number associated with an unapproved gift, select its alert in the list. For more information, see Giving History.
Note: We released this feature in waves so you may be able to view unapproved gifts already. It's now available for everyone!
