Here's the latest in Blackbaud Church Management!

Constituent timelines
To help limit access to sensitive information on constituent records, Giving now only appears under Timeline for users with permissions to view gift details. Previously, all users could view when constituents gave to your church.

Tip: Admins! In the database view, you can set security group rights to gifts from AdministrationSecurity.

Also, when you work with a constituent’s full timeline, the lists of small groups and classes they’re associated with now appear in alphabetical order. Previously, they were listed chronologically.

Congregation summary
Membership status statistics for your congregation now appear under Membership statuses in ConstituentsCongregation summary. Previously the data appeared at the top of the page.

Under Membership statuses, you can now:

  • Export the graph as an image in JPEG or PDF format. You can also export the data as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.

  • Define which membership statuses — such as regular attenders and visitors — to include. To choose which statuses appear in the graph, select Select statuses.

  • Create a list of people with a specific membership status, such as all prospective members.

For more information, see Membership Statuses.

Receipts
You can now create custom email templates for your gift receipts to ensure that they match your church's tone and branding. Create multiple templates to deliver unique receipts for different kinds of gifts, such as gifts over a certain amount or for gifts donated to a particular fund.

From GiftsGifts receipting, select Receipt templates. Then select New template or select Edit from the menu of an existing template. To edit the template's content, select Open email designer and add your own images, logos, signatures, wording, and any of the new merge fields.

To use an email template, from Gift Receipting, select one or more gifts that you want to send receipts for, then select Email receipts. Choose one of your receipt templates and select Send. For more information, see Receipt templates.

This list is so helpful, thank you! Would love to see more content for uno online users.

Regarding the gift receipting, this is definitely a step in the right direction!  However, it would be very helpful to have a gift merge option for (YTD giving) so that we can send out periodic updates to our constituents.  Can that be added please?
Hey DeAnna! I appreciate your feedback.

I want to make sure I understand your request. Are you asking for a single merge field that could be included on a Gift receipt template that would display the total amount that a Constituent has given so far YTD? I could see where that might be helpful, but it doesn't sound like it meets your needs for "sending YTD updates periodically"...

To clarify, there is a "Consolidated receipting" area where you can send aggregate receipts (aka Giving statements) and year-to-date is an option for those. I would suggest you use that area for sending periodic YTD receipts.

The purpose of the "Gift receipting" area is to receipt/acknowledge individual gifts as they come in to make sure the donor knows you received it (and to make sure they feel appreciated).

I hope this helps! Please do let me know if I'm misunderstanding your request!
