What's New (July 19)
Check out the latest features in Blackbaud Church Management!
- Close and filter prayer requests in MobileMission
- Small group leaders can manage meetings in MobileMission
- Communication form designer unavailable on September 1, 2022
- Patch 28
MobileMission
Once a prayer request is resolved and no longer needed on the prayer wall, a MobileMission user can now close it themselves instead of asking a church administrator to do it. From Prayer wall in MobileMission, the user selects My prayer requests, and then selects Close request.
MobileMission users can also filter prayer requests by date and status. For example, a user may want to view all public prayer requests that were closed last week. To filter requests, from Prayer wall, the user selects Public requests or My prayer requests, and then chooses Active or Closed and a date range.
MobileMission users who are small group leaders can now manage meetings for their groups in the app.
From Small groups in MobileMission, the leader opens their group. Under Meetings, they can:
-
Select New meeting to add a meeting.
-
Select Edit or Cancel to update or cancel a meeting occurrence or the whole series.
Note: Users in small groups can now select Subscribe to add their groups' meetings to their mobile device’s calendar.
Communication form designer
This notice is for churches who use the communication form (configured in Tools, Communication form designer) on their websites to collect communication preferences from site visitors. This feature will no longer be available as of September 1, 2022. To avoid interruption, we recommend that you find an alternative to gather communication preferences, such as a Google form.
Patch 28
This week, patch 28 will begin releasing in database view. The patch includes new functionality that allows you to export letters from gift, and action records. For more information, see this Knowledgebase article.

May I ask why the communication form is going away? It has been a great way for people to add themselves or remove themselves from individual mailings (ours automatically adds a solicit code to a person's record and adds them to that mailing list).
@Will Norman Hi Will! At this time, we are not planning on creating or replacing this with a new form.
Replying to Nikki, below--it has been poorly adopted because it is a feature poor medium. I've seen many requests in the ideas bank to expand the capability of the form. My hope is that there is something in the works that would replace it more robustly. could anyone speak to that?
Hi Danielle! This is a great question. While we appreciate that you've found it useful, we’ve seen very low adoption of this feature – most of our customers are utilizing other 3rd party forms to collect info. We often sunset features that aren't delivering as intended so we can focus our investments on more valuable features and capabilities.
