Your Blackbaud CRM database is now more secure than ever with Blackbaud Cloud Operations

Published
As part of its ongoing focus on security and compliance Blackbaud is pleased to announce that TDE (Transparent Database Encryption) is now enabled for Blackbaud CRM customers accessing the solution in Blackbaud Cloud Operations.

TDE is an industry standard best practice methodology that provides Blackbaud Cloud Operations customers with the added security of full database encryption for all fields, including customized ones.

Blackbaud Cloud Operations has enabled TDE for all environments including production, non-production, and the Blackbaud data warehouse without any customer effort or impact to normal customer operations*. TDE enablement is at no cost to customers and is not service-pack dependent nor SQL Server version dependent, so no action is required for Blackbaud CRM customers with Blackbaud Cloud Operations to begin benefitting from this additional layer of security.

Going forward, Blackbaud will continue to enable its customers with industry leading security and compliance capabilities so they can focus on achieving their mission.

*Our Customer Success team is working closely with a small number of customers who subscribe to legacy nightly-backup capability which requires specialized implementation to complete their activation. Fantastic, that is great to hear.

For clarity, is Blackbaud Cloud Operations the Blackbaud hosting service for CRM? Or is this an additional/new service?

We are an Australian CRM customer hosted by Blackbaud - and so I just want to confirm this applies to us.

Many thanks.
