What’s New: K-12 Product Updates For March 6

Published
Welcome to March 2019, everyone! Believe it or not, it’s time for the next look at what’s new for Blackbaud’s Cloud Solution for K-12 Schools!

We’re now on to release 14.03, which officially launches tomorrow, March 6. This month, every product outside of Extracurricular is represented, though Core and Academics have a vastly longer list of new features and updates. We have everything from new roles, new updates to Edit User Profile Data, and so much more.

So, let’s have a quick look at a few of the items included in the March 6 release:

Core: Revamping the Password Manager Role. Users with this role now have access to People finder in Core as well as a new task called Manage logins. Through this task, password managers can open a user’s profile and view their basic information and the user’s Personas and Product roles on the Access tab.

The password manager can also view and manage all of the user’s Log In Information. Through Access, they can do things like edit the user name, set a temporary password, disconnect the Blackbaud user, and View login history.

Enrollment management: Bulk Print Contracts. Inside of the March update, enrollment managers have the option to bulk print Contract Forms based on the school year.

Select Print and then the desired date range to start the bulk print. If the contracts within that date range total less than 100, a Print All option appears. For situations where there is more than 100 contracts, users can select a print range and then print contracts in batch.

Core: More Control over Emergency Contacts. We’ve made it easier to manage emergency contact information in this release. Users can edit their own information from their user profile by selecting their name from the top navigation and then Profile. In addition, users can now select to Edit an existing entry instead of first having to delete the entry and adding a new one. If a contact is also a user, you can now select the name of the individual to go to that individual's Contact card.

Administrators can also manage this information on a user’s behalf from Core, People finder, and then their Emergency contacts from the Contact Card.

Naturally, the release has a lot more content to discover. Make sure to head on over to our online help center to view the complete March 6 release notes. On release day, the embedded help panel will also be updated to display the latest release notes.

In case you’re more of a visual person, we have a new release video to show off everything in this release. While you’re there, we’d love it if you gave us a like on the video and don’t forget to subscribe to our channel for all our latest video content.
