Blackbaud’s Education Management Solutions: What’s New For October 11, 2022

Published

Here are all of the latest changes, updates, and new features for the Education management products for October 11, 2022.

Academics

Switch between marking periods in individual student gradebooks

Teachers can now switch between marking periods within an individual student’s gradebook. Previously, teachers had to close the individual gradebook, select a different marking period in the full gradebook view, then reopen the individual student gradebook to see a different marking period.

Attendance formatting for report cards and transcripts

While editing a Report Card or Transcript template that includes an Attendance section, you can now edit the styling of individual columns and column headers. On the Style form, you can do one of the following:

  • Select the top of the Attendance section to set the text style for this entire area of the template. As long as the columns are set to “(inherited)” style, the text style will apply to all text in this area.
  • Select a column to modify the style of the header and the style of the text under the header in a column.

Previously users could edit the style of an Attendance grid, but the same format would apply to all text in the grid.

Billing management (Early Adopter Program)

Set charge dates and due dates for fees generated through contracts

Billing clerks now have more flexibility when determining the charge dates and due dates for fees generated through contracts.

Enabling Automatically generate charges when a contract is returned and processed, under Generating fees on the School year settings page, now yields the following options to configure the charge dates and due dates:

  • Set charged on the dates using
    • The date the contract is processed
    • A specific date
  • Set the due dates using
    • Using the charge due date defaults
    • A specific date

Enrollment management

Introducing Event management!

In this update, the Enrollment management team is adding a new way to manage events. This is a brand-new event registration experience that was created from the ground up specifically for admissions managers. Not only can admissions managers expect a more modern admin experience (with easy to use check in and reporting features), but candidates will have an easy to fill out form with plenty of reminders.

Going forward, Event management is a central location to see all events including what type it is, how many attendees have registered, and other details like the date and time. You can find this under the Enrollment management product, then Events, and finally Event Registration. It acts similarly to other areas in the product where you can search, add columns, as well as filters to change the data displayed.

There's a lot of new details here so make sure to visit our online help for even more information on this new feature. Keep an eye on the blog for tomorrow's post which also addresses this topic.
