Out With The Old (Podium) And In With The New!

Published

Good news this week as we’ve taken another few features off of the bridge, transforming the old Podium look into a more modern and sleek SKY experience.

In case you missed it, we’ve been able to take multiple features out of the old Podium style and bring them into a more modern SKY style over the course of the past few months. Today, we’re going to take a closer look at some of these updates made recently to features in Enrollment management. Podium Be Gone!

Admissions Event Management
While not necessarily ‘recent’ as compared to other things on this list, the Enrollment management team rolled out a completely new look for Event Management when dealing with Admissions. From Enrollment management, head over to Events, and then select Event registration.

Admissions managers can use this more modern style to quickly filter and search for specific events, create a new one from scratch, edit existing ones, and even see who has signed up. In fact, you can click on the total number to be taken to a specific Attendees page which shows the person’s name, their grade, registration date, and a whole lot more. Ultimately, we hope this updated look makes your life easier when working with Admissions events.

One thing to note is that the older style is still available from the Event registration forms option. We understand that with the summer months rapidly approaching, schools may need a bit more time to fully make the transition. Plus, it gives us more time to hear your feedback, so we’re aiming to make the big switch in full towards the end of 2023.

Financial Aid Awards
The next major overhaul was done to Financial Aid Awards, which has really gotten a major facelift. I mean, look at the before and after shots below, it’s night and day.

See what I mean? Again, the change was made to help simplify things and get you where you need to be faster. It’s more modern and looks consistent with other areas in Enrollment management, so you can find the information you need much quicker than before. Better yet, we’ve added a new visual wizard to help you award financial aid in a much easier and quicker way.

Sneak Peek! Create New Candidate Workflow
Alright, this one isn’t quite live yet, so consider this a peek behind the curtain if you will. I’m not going to go too in depth here, but we’re also in the process of transforming the workflow when creating a new Candidate under Admissions management. You know what, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here you go:

Whew, so what did you think? That’s a lot of “new” to take in, though I hope you’re excited about it just as much as we are. Hopefully, the more modernized look and feel will help make your life just a little bit easier going forward. See you next week!

Can the old Event Registration be turned off for those schools that would like to move forward with the new event registration?

Hey Barbara! I'll relay your comment to the team, but as of right now, there is no way for schools to individually turn off the old style. It's planned to be removed later this year though we'll definitely be communicating the date once finalized and as it gets closer.

Fascinated by your timing on this release during enrollment season.

One thing I may not have made clear with this post is that this is intended to be more of a round up of information. For example, the Event management overhaul happened late last year and we still have the older version available if you'd rather continue using that instead.

The Candidate Workflow is something that's coming soon and the Financial Aid stuff is a more recent change, but all of your data and information is still there, nothing got replaced or overwritten.

We're definitely not making all of these changes right now at this moment because you're right, that would certainly be overwhelming!
