Three Ideas For Using Analytics In The New Year

Published
I hope that everyone on the Target Analytics Community experienced a joyful New Year and holiday season with family and friends.  Now that 2018 is firmly in place, I wanted to share three ideas that I believe will be helpful in ensuring you are utilizing your analytics and ResearchPoint subscription to start the year out with some productive next steps:
  1. If it has been a while, simply dust off your Target Analytics modeling project results.  You can start utilizing your analytics to conduct a test a mailing using AGL and TGR scores.  Check out a blog I wrote on the Community entitled, “Announcing A Helpful Resource Guide For Utilizing AGL And TGR Scores!” You can do also dust off your major giving analytics results, by checking out a blog I wrote on the Community entitled, “Please Don’t Put Me On The Shelf: Simple Strategies For Utilizing Your Major Gifts Analytics!”

  1. If you are a Raiser’s Edge NXT client and are starting to use review your Target Analytics within the software, I have a fantastic blog from my colleague Katherine Swank on specific strategies for using these analytics.  Her blog is entitled, “Asking For – And Getting - Increased Gift Amounts: Best Practices For Using Your RE NXT Analytics Or Fundraising Essentials Next Ask Amount Scores.”  In this blog you will get specific strategies and steps, along with insights into best practices for appeal letters.

  1. Make a concerted effort to use your ResearchPoint software subscription to screen any new prospects through WealthPoint.  We had quite a few updates to the WealthPoint databases that were announced in our ResearchPoint September 2017 (4.97) Release, so you may want to not only screen new prospects – but also update existing prospect records with WP data where it has been a while since they were last screened.  Remember you can screen them one-at-a-time or via group/batch screening.  I recommend in the new year that you check out how many WP batch screening records you have remaining in RP and make a plan for utilizing them on or before your yearly subscription date.  Check out my colleague Ashley Oates’ blog in the Community entitled, “Need to Find Out How Many WealthPoint Screenings You Have Remaining?” for information on how to figure out how many records you have available to screen in groups.  Remember that RP Essentials clients have up to 2,500 records to screen in groups per year and RP Professional clients have up to 7,500 records, with both subscriptions having unlimited single searches.  If you have ResearchPoint Starter, you have 500 single WP searches per year.  If you find that you need more than 500 single searches or would like to screen records in batches to save time and be more efficient, talk to your Target Analytics Account Executive for pricing options to upgrade your RP Starter subscription to Essentials or Professional.  If you are looking for ideas on how to utilize your remaining batch screening records, please check out my blog in the Community entitled, “Tips For Utilizing WealthPoint Batch Screenings In ResearchPoint.”
I hope you find these ideas helpful as you get started in the new year.
